Take Me TherebbbCasey Page

Spend some time in laughter,

and I know what it means to cry

Spend some time in anger,

and I learn how to let sleeping dogs lie

Spend some time in solitude, and I appreciate a friend

Spend some time afraid of my shadow,

and I learn how to start taking chances all over again

And seemingly I frequently find that in every day life

In all the joy and in all the strife

Well, I don’t know when my hour will come

So Father draw me close to your kingdom!

And take me there, take me to that place

Where my heart and mind are opened

To the wonders of your Grace

Take me there, take me to that light

Where my spirit is awakened

To your glory and your righteous Might

Take me there, take me there

Spend some time under the sun and I begin to feel so small

Spend some time reading about your son

And I wonder why he loves me at all

Spend some time talking to wise men,

It makes me feel like a fool

Spend some time walking among their graves

And I realize I can’t always live by the rules

And suddenly I’m awfully aware of the fate that awaits us all

The price of our great downfall

It resonates throughout all of history

And it ends on the cross of calvary

So take me there, take me to that place

Where my heart and mind are opened

To the wonders of your Grace

Take me there, take me to that light

Where my spirit is awakened

To your glory and your righteous Might

Take us there, take us to that place

Where our hearts and minds are opened

To the wonders of, the wonders of your Grace, Lord,

Take us there, take us to that light

Where our spirits are awakened

To your glory and your righteous Might

Take me there, take us there,

Father take me there, take me there

Take me there

Commentary:

This song is for those who desire an intimacy with God...that was my desire when I wrote this song. It's about the intricacies and grey areas of life that so many times bring pain and confusion...but through it all, our goal is to have the fire of passion for Him building inside our hearts continually...in the joy and in the strife of life. As Matt Redman sings, "You give and take away, You give and take away, but my heart will choose to say, Lord, blessed be Your Name!"

So my prayer in this song is for God to take us there...to a higher plane of knowing and enjoying and living in Him.
